🇪🇺 €15M EU DACCS and BECCS Funding Opportunity 🇪🇺

💶 The hashtag#EU has launched a new Innovative Action Grant under the Horizon Europe Programme for Direct Air Carbon Capture and Storage (hashtag#DACCS) and Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (hashtag#BECCS) technologies totalling €15M.

The grant is aimed at advancing the development of high-TRL carbon dioxide removal (hashtag#CDR) solutions and projects need to contribute to at least one of the following outcomes:

🧑‍🔬 Improve or develop new materials for DACCS and/or BECCS technologies.

🔁 Address barriers to integrating DACCS and/or BECCS into existing CC(U)(S) frameworks.

📉 Increase TRL levels and reduce costs to make DACCS and BECCS viable options for EU carbon neutrality.

THE FINE PRINT:

🇪🇺 Eligibility: Open to EU Member States, Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) linked to the EU, and third countries associated with Horizon Europe.

✂️ Funding Rate: 70% (100% for NPOs)

💰 Estimated EU Contribution per Project: Between €5M and €7M

📣 This is great news for developers working in the DACCS and BECCS space. However, without sounding like a broken record: we need to have more technology-agnostic funding opportunities if we want to scale CDR.
