🇪🇺 €28,5m in financing for European carbon dioxide removal (#CDR) projects 🇪🇺 

🎉 Great news keep coming out of Europe this week. The European Commission just launched announced a €62m call for proposals under its Programme for Environment and Climate Action (hashtag#LIFE), of which €28.5m can go towards CDR projects.

The details:

💶 Up to 12 projects can receive between €1m-€5m financing up to 60% of a their costs.

🇪🇺 Eligible projects have to be EU-based (or LIFE-associated countries)

💪 Technologies explicitly called out are enhanced weathering (hashtag#EW), biochar carbon removal (hashtag#BCR), and hashtag#BioCCS. Likely that any durable CDR can qualify.

📅 Deadline is September 17th 2024, results announced in March 2025 to start in May/June 2025
