Have you been following the latest developments in Europe’s biggest economy? Here my top highlights:
💶 CDR will soon have its own line in the federal budget, with plans to allocate €X00m for 2026
📜 The CDR strategy of the government (LNe) will likely be passed this September
🚛 Transport and storage of CO2 will finally be legal in Germany soon
🇩🇪 No surprises here: I have long been an advocate of Germany’s role in leading Europe (and the world) on CDR. In fact, I founded and have been chairing the Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) for precisely that reason.
🏛️ And in Q1 we already saw Germany become the first country in the world to encode its 2045 net-zero target into the constitution, as well as agreeing on investing €100b into climate infrastructure.
🎙️ Momentum seems to be really building now. So time to touch base with an expert: Nadine Walsh will be joining Eve Tamme and I on the next CDR Policy Scoop to dive into all the details.
