🇪🇺 Just touched down in Brussels where I am joining my wonderful colleagues from the The Global South Carbon Dioxide Removal Coalition (GS CDR) to deliver this simple message to European policy makers.
🤝 Looking forward to two days packed with meetings across the EU Commission, Parliament, and Council to share our perspectives and experiences at this crucial moment in time.
🎯 By the end of the year, the Commission will deliver a proposal on the use of international credits to achieve Europe’s 2040 Climate Target.
🌍 It is crucial we get this one right and do not repeat the mistake of the Clean Development Mechanism from over a decade ago. Done well, this could relieve pressure on European industry, drive progress in the Global South, and support climate action

👀 And, while here, we will also be meeting the three final candidates for the role of Executive Director of the Coalition here in Brussels - watch this space!
🚀 Onwards!
