šŸ›ļø How can governments scale carbon dioxide removal? šŸ›ļø

šŸ¤” I get asked this question all the time, so I decided to write a blog summarising what I know.

😱 The good news: there are plenty of pioneering governments already deploying policies to fund CDR and - spoiler alert - it is not just the U.S.

šŸ’„ In today’s blog ā€œGovernment as Catalyst: Strategic Financing Paths for Scaling Carbon Dioxide Removalā€ published on theĀ CarbonfutureĀ magazine, I present the seven main policy options available to governments, suggest a framework to compare them, and provide real-life examples from around the world of how these are being implemented.

šŸ”Ž The research into this blog spans at least six months. As you might know, I have done spotlight posts on each of these policy options in the past. Now I’ve brought it all together for you.

šŸŽÆ The aim of this post is to provide some common knowledge and kickstart a conversation.

šŸ“ˆ Supportive government policy is how we get CDR to gigaton scale, I am convinced of that. Hopefully, this can serve as a useful input into making that happen.

šŸ‘€ Enjoy the read and do share your thoughts here: what is your preferred policy option? Why? What did I miss?
