đ Out in Climate and out front in leadership

â Last month, CDRâs very own Noah McQueen joined the Founding Advisory Council of Out in Climate, which is building a climate movement that truly reflects the world weâre all working to protect.
â ď¸ This is why representation matters. Climate change hits marginalised communities first and hardest, including LGBTQ+ people, but their voices are still missing from too many decision-making spaces. Better climate solutions start with whoâs IN the room.
đ¤ Diversity isnât optional. Diverse perspectives lead to better decisions, more resilient infrastructure, and stronger climate outcomes, especially as we scale carbon removal.Â
đ¤ Itâs also backed by the data. McKinsey research shows companies in the top quartile for diversity are 39% more likely to financially outperform their peers. Inclusion isnât just the right thing to do, it makes economic sense.Â
đ The good news: CDR is already attracting more diverse talent than many industries. According to the CDRjobs 2025 Salary Report, 24% of respondents identify as LGBTQ+, compared to a global average of ~9%. Thatâs a real strength, and one we should intentionally support and grow.
đłď¸âđ Thatâs why communities like Out in Climate matter. By uplifting LGBTQ+ climate advocates and leaders across sectors, itâs a powerful reminder that authenticity and connection strengthen our work, and the systems we build together.
đ Congrats to Noah and excited about the work you will be able to do with Out in Climate.
