🇪🇺 It is too early to pick winners! Europe will only be able to achieve net-zero if it can leverage a wide range of durable carbon removal technologies.
👎 We are concerned that the European Commission is considering integrating only a small subset into the EU Emission Trading System (hashtag#ETS). This could have serious negative consequences for the nascent CDR industry and limit the available supply of durable CDR in the 2030s and 2040s.
❗Instead, we are calling for a tech-open integration: if it’s certified under the CRCF as a permanent removal, it should be eligible. Period.
🔊 Carbonfuture is one of over 200 companies who are urging the Commission to take a technology neutral approach in any CDR-compliance market integration.
🫵 If this resonates, make sure to join this campaign by signing onto the open letter today. You don't have to be a European company. This campaign has global consequences and your voice matters!
