🔥 The world is burning, yet again 🔥

🔴 What is happening right now is tragic, terrifying, and - this is key - in many ways preventable.

🥲 Yes, wildfires have always been there, but no one in their right mind can look at the images coming out of North America or Europe right now and claim that there is anything "normal" about it.

🤷‍♂️ So will we be looking at even worse fires next year, and the year after, and the year after?

✅ Or will society finally act and do whatever it can to prevent these fires in the first place?

💚 At the highest level, this means one simply thing: taking climate change seriously and doing whatever we can to slow it down (and maybe even reverse it one day).

🌲 Then there are dozens of measures that each country needs to put in place, from better land and forest management, to investing in rural areas, to changing building codes.

What has struck me ever since diving into this topic years ago, is how biochar addresses so many of these issues all at once:

1️⃣ Biochar creates a business case and use for hazardous forest fuel

2️⃣ Biochar increases water retention in soils and keeps them most moist

3️⃣ Biochar production generates jobs in rural areas

4️⃣ Biochar helps remove CO2 from the atmosphere permanently

🤞 I really hope that these devastating events will lead to change, and that we will finally invest serious money into preventing these fires in the first place. We know what needs to be done, we have the tools.
