🇪🇺 This is a big week for EU carbon dioxide removal (#CDR) policy, so watch this space! 🇪🇺

1️⃣ It kicks off later today with discussions by the EU Parliament´s Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (#ENVI) committee on the final draft of the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (#CRCF).

2️⃣ Then on the 25th and 26th, the EU Commission will be hosting a workshop on industrial carbon removal methodologies in the CRCF, including biochar carbon removal (#BCR) and enhanced weathering (#EW).

➡ This week will give us a good sense of the direction of the CRCF, arguably the most important CDR legislation in the EU today. Given recent developments, I am not too hopeful about the ENVI vote which puts even higher expectations on the EU Commission´s Expert Group to advance the discussion on inclusive, tech-agnostic permanent CDR.
