🇪🇺 77% of you believe that Europe is where CDR policy action is going to happen in 2025 - time to get your hands dirty 🇪🇺

☑️ Last week, over 200 of you participated in a poll of mine and the results were stunning (for me): without a doubt, the sentiment among this community is that Europe is where CDR policy is actually going to move in 2025. Not the US (7%). Not the UN (4%). Not any other individual county (11%).

So here are a few recommendations on what you can do to get involved, whether as an individual or with your company:

🤓 Educate yourself: there are so many good resources out there. For Europe, my favourite has to be Carbon Gap’s Policy Tracker: perfect for starters to make sense of acronyms like CRCF, ETS, GCD, etc. but also ideal for experts who want a refresher or deep dive.

🙋Team up with your peers: Elisabeth Harding and I run a biweekly working group for CDR policy professionals focused on Europe. If this sounds exciting, leave a comment or drop us a note.

🌐 Join a trade association: strength comes in numbers. Thankfully, there are three trade associations already in Europe: Association Française pour les Emissions Négatives (AFEN) for France, Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) for Germany, and Negative Emissions Platform for the European Union.

🔔 Stay up-to-date: while I focus on global CDR policy, Europe is definitely my home turf. Make sure to turn on the bell on my profile, follow my regular CDR Policy Scoop with Eve Tamme, and subscribe to my monthly, curated newsletter: The hashtag#GigaTen.

❓ What else? How do you plan to get involved and what resources, people, and platforms would you recommend to our colleagues/peers?
