🦾 Do you care if my content is 100% written by AI? 🦾

🧑💻 LinkedIn is FLOODED with AI slop nowadays. And climate influencers are no exception. Many of us are increasingly delegating our most time consuming task - content generation - to LLMs.
🤯 What I find particularly shocking, is that many of these blatantly 100% LLM written posts go viral and gather a ton of engagement.
🧓 Call me old-school, but I think this is a loss. I value authenticity, creative insight, and analysis above all. If we continue on this path, this platform will become meaningless.
💻 Just to be clear: I use AI all the time. For research, spellchecking, and to give me feedback on my drafts. But I make sure that the final output you see has my clear thumbprint on it. I’ve also experienced myself how LLMs regularly invent data and present them as “facts”.
📊 Now how wide-spread is “the problem”? As always, I wanted to move from anecdote to data. So I ran the numbers in a rough and dirty analysis. I took 16 top CDR and climate influencers (including myself), and fed their last 10 posts through 3 different AI detectors.
🔎 The results:
-> 15% of all posts were written entirely by AI
-> 78% of posts were written at least partially by AI
-> 7 influencers rely regularly on AI generated posts
-> 2 influencers had basically all their posts written by AI
-> 7 influencers use AI for assistance, but still write the majority of their posts themselves
-> 21% of posts were written by a human without any AI
🤷 The key question I want to ask you all: Should we care? Do YOU care? Or am I being the grumpy guy who insisted on using dictionaries when Google became mainstream?
💬 Finally, a note on methodology here: this was a quick analysis and the tools I used are not perfect. As such, I want to use this primarily to kick off a conversation, more then to point fingers.
🤔 Over to you: what is your take on this whole topic?
