🧪 Ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) is one of the most promising carbon removal methods. But it is complex, and its success depends largely on supportive policy.
💼That’s why Carbon to Sea Initiative - a nonprofit that funds and coordinates scientific research into OAE - is hiring a VP, Global Policy to lead the regulatory, financial, and field conditions OAE research and scale-up depend on.
They’re looking for someone with:
🔹15+ years in senior climate / ocean / energy / environmental policy
🔹A real track record of building programs from scratch in a fast-moving field
🔹Able to work closely with a technical R&D team and translate their work credibly to policy and finance audiences
🔹Depth in at least two of EU/Brussels policy, UK climate/ocean policy, or Global South climate policy.
🔹Direct experience shaping outcomes at UNFCCC, IMO, IPCC or similar is a must
The job offers:
✅ Remote work
✅ International travel
✅ $190,000-$220,000 salary
⭐ More than anything, you’d get to work with an A*, led by Antonius Gagern. Speaking from experience, as I had the pleasure to collaborate on many projects with them already.
👷 Jobs like this do not come round often: a senior policy role in a field which is just starting to emerge. You can literally shape the trajectory of an industry here, and have a potentially huge impact as a result.
