šŸŒŽ Thanks for being part of this 40,000-strong CDR community with me šŸŒ

šŸ§‘ā€šŸ’» It's no secret that I spend a lot of my time on LinkedIn. Posting, engaging, celebrating, debating, polling, livestreaming. You name it. It’s a wonderful way to learn, connect, and promote CDR.

ā© But instead of looking back to see how far we’ve come (which we have), I want to look ahead & share with you the Top 10 things that make me excited in CDR right now:

1ļøāƒ£ A gold standard is emerging in Europe: the CRCF is almost done and it looks good. The pace of work has been incredible & we’ll soon have the world’s first government-certified CDR credits. šŸ‘ Christian Holzleitner, Fabien Ramos, Andrea Klaric, Chris Malins

2ļøāƒ£ Germany’s leadership: the world’s 4th largest economy just doubled down on its net-zero commitment & CDR features–for the first time–in the government’s programme. Here’s to 2025, Auf geht’s! šŸ‘ Deutscher Verband für negative Emissionen e.V. (DVNE) Stefan, Nadine.

3ļøāƒ£ Denmark shows us how it’s done: no country in the world (for now) is investing more per capita into CDR this decade than Denmark. Way to punch above your weight. šŸ‘Sophie Fisker Jon Folberg Pedersen Morten Heick

4ļøāƒ£ Global South is rising: home to almost half of all CDR delivered to date, I’m pumped that many of the world’s biggest CDR companies are teaming up as the Global South CDR Coalition to take a seat at the table. šŸ‘ Fiona, Wietse, Francesco

5ļøāƒ£ The next wave of CDR in the USA: while DC is facing turbulent times, CDR is picking up a lot of steam in states (CA, NY, WA) and cities (Minneapolis, Flagstaff, Boulder,...) across the country. šŸ‘ Christopher, Christiaan

6ļøāƒ£ Article 6 is taking shape: following COP29’s breakthrough, we’re seeing more countries planning to use Article 6 credits (even the EU). 2025 will be another crucial year to operationalise it. šŸ‘Olga Gassan-zade

7ļøāƒ£ A boost to the VCM: the latest corporate net-zero standard by the SBTi has triggered ample debate. Let’s celebrate the wins: it’s likely going to include explicit CDR milestones starting in 2030! šŸ‘Piera Patrizio, Martina Massei, David Kennedy

8ļøāƒ£ Microsoft carrying the sector: it accounts for 64% of all durable CDR purchases to date. And they are not slowing down. They’re continuing to make big bets and supporting the scale-up of the sector like no other. šŸ‘ Brian Marrs, Rafael Broze, Steffi Olesi Muhanji,

9ļøāƒ£ Content getting better and better: I am so impressed by the ever-increasing quality of analysis in CDR. I don’t miss a single post by Robert, Eve, Tank, Lukas, and Lucy. Leila and Mathew are taking it to the next level on screen.

šŸ”Ÿ Smart people joining the CDR movement: few things motivate me more than really incredible, experienced people leaving their careers in all sorts of sectors to work in CDR. Let’s make sure at least 10,000 do so in 2025. šŸ‘CDRjobs Jobs in Carbon, Helen, Simon

šŸ™Œ So thank you for being part of this journey. Let’s buckle up and make it happen–together.
