๐Ÿ’ต Up to $500K funding for early stage carbon dioxide removal scientists and entrepreneurs though the Breakthrough Energy Fellowship ๐Ÿ’ต

๐ŸŒThe Breakthrough Energy Fellows program focuses across all technology categories that have the potential to reduce greenhouse gases, at scale, by at least 500 million tons per year - which includes carbon dioxide removal (hashtag#CDR).

๐Ÿš€ They are particularly looking for breakthrough technologies that are not incremental, but a *step change improvement* to incumbent technologies and solutions.

The Breakthrough Energy Fellows program has three pathways:

๐Ÿ’ก Innovator Fellows are world-leading scientists and engineers who enter the program with a critical climate technology to commercialize and receive up to $500,000 in funding.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Business Fellows are experienced professionals with tech commercialization skills who support the Innovator Fellows in accelerating their path to market.

๐Ÿฅผ Explorers receive funding for earlier stage, higher technical risk endeavours. These projects are typically led by scientists at university labs or research entities and receive between $50,000-$250,000.

๐Ÿค“ Previous CDR fellows include Sinkco Labs, Silicate, Loamist, Holocene, and Aspiring Materials.

๐Ÿ“… If this sounds like something for you apply now! Applications for their 5th cohort are open now until December 2: https://lnkd.in/d8TBQp8q

๐Ÿ™Œ Thanks to Jack Andreasen for bringing this to my attention - excited to see the next cohort get us closer to gigaton scale!
